الحمّص المتبّل بالقلّاية الهوائية
Crispy, seasoned air fryer chickpeas that make a great, healthy snack and are ready in 15 minutes!
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this to you all, but I’m in love with my air fryer. Ever since I bought it last summer, I have spent the past year experimenting with it. Food that used to take 30 minutes or more in the oven take 10 or less in the air fryer. I love using it to reheat crispy foods that would otherwise become soggy in the microwave.
Today’s recipe is one of my favourite lockdown discoveries! Crispy chickpeas that I can make whenever I have a salty snack craving.

The Secret to Perfectly-Crispy Chickpeas
The secret to making crispy chickpeas is to cook them at a high enough temperature to dehydrate them without burning them. The hot, circulating air of the air fryer perfectly cooks them with little risk of burning, whereas roasting them in the oven can take 45 minutes or more and runs the risk of burning some while leaving others chewy.
The seasoning blend below is one that both adults and children will love, but you can use the seasoning blend of your choice. It’s up to you!
Chickpea Seasonings
Try the following seasonings:
Cinnamon sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
BBQ
- 1 ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon celery salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Spicy
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon sea salt

Crispy Air Fryer Chickpeas
Equipment
- Air fryer
Ingredients
- 2 cups chickpeas dried, or 14oz can chickpeas
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, soak dried chickpeas for 24 hours. Drain and dry with a paper towel. If using canned chickpeas, wash and drain chickpeas. Dry with a paper towel.
- In a bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Put in the air fryer and fry for 8 minutes at 200°C. Take them out, mix and air fry for 7 more minutes. If they’re still not completely dehydrated, throw them back in the air fryer for 2 more minutes.
- Allow to cool completely.

المكونات
- علبة حمّص
- ملعقة كبيرة ملح
- ملعقة كبيرة بودرة البصل
- ملعقة كبيرة بودرة الثوم
- ملعقة كبيرة بابريكا
- ملعقتين زيت زيتون
التعليمات
- اغسلوا وصفّوا الحمّص. نشفوه بمحارم.
- اخلطوا كل العناصر بصحن غميق.
- حطوهن بالقلاية الهوائية واقلوهن لمدة 10 دقائق بدرجة حرارة 180 مئوية. طالعوهن واخلطوهن واقلوهن بالقلاية الهوائية لمدة 10 دقائق إضافية.
- خلوهن يبردوا بشكل كامل لحتى يتصلّبوا.
